We have all lost a sense of control and choice. When unsupported, grief can lead to more serious mental health conditions, resulting in reduced productivity – which is why it’s important to recognise, by raising our self-awareness, that we are better placed to support others. This is the same approach that has to be understood especially at an organisational level. When we are pulled into more negative emotions, this is demanding of your energy so it is good to recharge regularly.
